Background: Son of a noble and a serf, Takumi’s mother couldn’t afford to support him and sold him to into an intense military program, not really having much knowledge about it but assuming it would be better for him. As such from a very young age Takumi went through a lot of various training in the weapons they had available at the tie, as well as knowledge of poisons, explosives and survival skills, long distance running, riding, hand to hand fighting and climbing, but the institute’s main focus is espionage skills. By the time Kyou was 11, his father decided he was in need of a new guard with his father deciding to give him someone a little less expected than a soldier and went to the school. Takashi, as one of his advisors at the time, was less than happy about it, offering him several well versed soldiers and upon not being able to dissuade the Emperor decided to give the five men he’d picked out as potential guards to take a hidden object that his mother had given him as a child and bring it to him and that if any were caught they’d be out of the running. Takumi was the first to do it, as well as doing it the same day after Takashi had upped security to fix the results of the test and begrudgingly accepted Takumi as the guard. Since then despite Takashi not liking Takumi’s methods, he needs information more than he dislikes Takumi, often getting him to go on espionage missions on other nobles.

Background: Emperor’s brother, helped him implement new government systems, based heavily on another large kingdom on Oratoa, separating the lands under the emperor into provinces, implementing several taxes which were to be collected by governors of the provinces before being paid to the government. Unfortunately since they hadn’t realised that what works for someone else wouldn’t necessarily work for them, causing a lot of peasants to leave to avoid paying taxes they couldn’t afford along with others who had run away from conscripted work. Said unhappy peasants often gather outside the capital and it’s something they don’t want the humans to see so guards are often sent to disperse them whilst they try and reform the reforms. ((I can change this if it’s not good/ conflicting/ whatever-- )) Also has a lot of pets in the palace, his favourite being a group of small deer like creatures that will bow back if bowed to.

Svellsker’s a big chilly planet that doesn’t have much land (about 25% of the planet is land) but a lot of oil deposits in the oceans and over natural resources including wood for days not that it’s as needed as it used to be. Svellskerers are usually pale with light hair and have tapetum lucidum, meaning that they’re able to see in the dark and are also able to digest raw meat. They’re also known for being large and having an inherited aggressive streak , which is generally put down to being a defensive trait to help cope with the hostile conditions of their planet. Svellskerers that moved to earth are also noted for being similar to ablinos in how pale and how easily they burn and you’re most likey to see them in the army or the navy. Culture is heavily based on Vikings.
